Chishui
City, the place where the Red Army crossed the Chishui
River for four times during the Long March, has a Long
history of 800 years.
It is located in the hilly transit area from the northern
foot of Daloushan Mountain to the Sichuan Basin. It
has a humid sub-tropical monsoon climate. The average
annul temperature of most part of Chishui is 18.1¡ãC.
The annul precipitation is around 1,268.80 mm. The frost-free
period is 350 days every year. The total sunshine time
is 1,290 hours per year with the sunshine rate of 29%.
Chishui is rich in the resource of living things with
the total number of 2,500 kinds. Chishui was appraised
to be "the homeland of bamboo" by the Forestry
Ministry in 1996. It was also appraised "the experiment
zone of ecology in China" by the National Environment
Protection Bureau. Chishui is rich in water resource.
The reserve quantity in theory is 330,000 kilowatt and
the electricity energy production will be 830 million
kilowatt hour. There are many kinds of other resources
such as natural gas, coal, bittern and silica. Chishui
as well has a great deal of forests. There are 1,490,0OO
mu of forests with the forest cover rate of 55.24%.
Chishui is a fruit base in Guizhou Province. More than
40 kinds of sub-tropical fruits are planted there.
Moreover, there are more than 630 square kilometers
in the city. The tour interests are all over the city.
