Alshan
City lies between the southwestern foot of the Daxing'an
Range, Hulunbeier Grassland, Ke¡¯erqin Grassland,
and Songnen Plain. There are 93.531 kilometers of Sino-Mongolian
border line along the city and Alshan-Bei¡¯ershong
(Mongolism) National second-level border port.
Alshan possessed the rare mineral spring group in the
world In a narrow tract of land, 500 meters in length
and 70 meters in width, there are 48 warm and cold springs
with various elements and high quality water. It is
a mixture of spring groups with sodium bicarbonate springs,
radioactive radon springs and basilicas springs in cold,
warn, hot, and extremely hot temperatures. It is second
functional spring group in the world next to the one
in former Yugoslavia, and enjoys high fame both at home
and abroad. In addition to the function of bathing,
the water in some of these springs can be drunk. At
present, the drinking water from the ¡°Five
Li Spring¡± and "Holy Water Spring"
approved by the country and is now under limited development.
It has been jointly approved by the Ministry of National
Resources , the Ministry of Health as a choice natural
mineral spring water with low mineralized level and
low content of sodium, basilicas, and sodium bicarbonate.
Alshan is also endowed with rich mineral resources,
among which iron, zinc, limestone have high quality
and granite, nyalopsite, pearlier, and basalt have huge
deposits.
