or shady, bank of the Yangzi River.

Location
Near the south bank of the Chang Jiang (Yangzi River),
about 45 km north of Wuxi.
History
Traditionally a farming area, the residents of Jiangyin
have recently become among the most wealthy in China,
due to the rapid economic expansion enjoyed by this
area.
A 6-lane highway suspension bridge is being constructed
across the Yangtze River at Jiangyin. When completed
in 1999 it was one of the longest suspension bridges
in the world, with a span of 1,385 metres (4,500 feet).
